Julies Training Day - crafting, good company and cupcakes!!

I have had a wonderful time today at Julies all day training in Pudsey.  There were 25 of us in total and we had a great time crafting and chatting and learning more about Stampin Up.  Our first projects in the morning were using the new stampin up fabric.  Gemma showed us how to make a brooch using suffolk puffs which were really cute.  She had also made a christmas tree hanging using some folded patchwork - I will be ordering some of the christmas fabric just to make one of these!!

The first snap shot is Shazza (L) and Nicki (R) both busy with their suffolk puffs

Next we have the whole room - everyone is busy crafting.

Here are the fabulous cupcakes that Julies friend Mel had made for the buffet lunch.  Mel usually co-ordinates the cupcakes to the colour theme for the day.  For today Julie had asked for flowers to link in the Stampin Up theme of "grow"

Here's the cupcake I chose - look how fabulous it looks next to the wisteria wonder fabric and my suffolk puffs

Here is an owl I made for my inspiration station - its the Stampin Up owl punch enlarged to 350%.  I backed the fabric with some bondaweb before I stitched it to the felt to try and cut down on any fraying.  I sewed the owl onto a small fabric shopping bag that I bought from Hobbycraft

Next here is one of the five owls that I made to try and showcase the fabric.  The pupil parts of the eyes are the glimmer brads which real sparkle

Here are a trio of cards and another of the ows.  I am really pleased with how the pleated circle card turned out.  The new ruffled ribbon (wisteria wonder) is really nice to work with and I can't wait to get all the other colours

Here are the cards we made in the afternoon - using the pennant builder punch and pennant parade stamp set.  This first card is my favourite of the five, and I will be making more of these to send out at christmas

The next is my second favourite card - the calypso coral is really lovely to work with and contrasts wonderfully against the whisper white background

The next card is my own take on Julies - I just need to add a couple of boho blossom flowers to the cream banners

  1. Are you sharing the template for the owls or are you selling it?
I love them so much, they are the cutest and I would love to make some myself.

    Best regards, Nadine
