The weather last Sunday started off quite dull with fog patches on the A1 on the way up to Richmond. We began to wonder whether taking a packed lunch was a good idea.
Luckily around 10.30am the sun came out and all the fog cleared and it was a beautiful day
We parked close the river and had a lovely stroll through the woods and along the riverbank. We ate our lunch on a bench at the side of the river - it was very busy with lots of children splashing about in the shallows and there were plenty of fishing nets getting their first airing of the year.
We hope to visit Richmond again in the summer and maybe explore the castle and tower
